Stuff

set of 2.5mm needles darning needle 4ply or thinner yarn white and red, I span my own

How to

  • cast on 2 stitches in white k2 pass to end of needle k2 for 1.5 cm Icord
  • change to red
  • make 2 next row
  • knit row
  • put on 2 needles, knit in the round on the two needles until you have 6 stitches in total then put on the three needles (make 2 stitches every 2 rows)
  • when you have 18 stitches
  • knit 1 row red and change back to white knit one row
  • perl 2 rows
  • cast of in perl
  • tidy ends

  • knot white top and thread end back into hat

Finished cardigan

28th November 2023 Cardigan now finished used pattern purchased from Etsy

  • Knitted sleeves in the round with a single garter stitch faux seem, added a few cm
  • knitted back and fronts all at once, 2 stitch moss stitch faux seems, made side seem nearly as long as sleeves
  • added inside pocket and top pocket for glasses

  • 3 ply Polwarth < £40 made about 1kg, used about 600g
  • knitted up somewhere between 4ply and aran, aimning for dk, well all of them
  • lovely and soft

a soup from leftover stuff from the kitchen for my family serves 4

Ingredients

I ltr stock or water herbs and spices 500g leftover vegetables and/or frozen vegetables 100g lentils 1 onion

equipment

electric pressure cooker

Method

  • fry onion in oil cooker
  • chop vegetables make up to 500g with frozen vegetables
  • add to pan with lentils
  • add stock or water to make up to 1 ltr
  • add spices
  • cook as stew/soup — optional liquidise — if only for 2 add some to a sealed container while hot cool and freeze when cold

The aim of the project is to make poncho blanket for camping etc. Toot – Northern Kin Festival – It will be made of hexagons about 170-200, 150cm by 200cm. – A ribbed neck made from three missing hexagons with the corners filled in, I will include a tie to close the hole – pockets – made from hand spun or spare yarn – may include pockets – to finish before I go camping again in September

  3. 3 chain as first stitch ~2 tr in each stitch 2 times 2 chain~ 6 times
  4. 1 tr in each stitch, corners 1 tr 2 chain 1 tr 5 – 8 as above
  5. a row of dc to finish

4mm dpns or circular needle 1. start from the centre with 6 stitches knit until 2. 2 stiches in each stitch 3. increase 12 stitches every other row until diameter is 13cm 4. crochet 1 dc in every stitch

Your will need...

  • yarn (4ply patterned sock yarn is ideal) any
  • knitting dolly
  • darning needle
    • 25cm 5mm elastic, thin enough to thread through tube

usefull

  • safety pin for threading elastic

How to make

  1. make 30 on dolly
  2. thread 25cm (25cm twice round in not very stretchy) of elastic through and knot or sew ends
  3. sew end of tube together

— 1a – you could use icord instead of tube made on cord
